AstraZeneca Donates $1M to Wilmington Hospital’s Expansion

AstraZeneca contributed $1 million to Wilmington (Del.) Hospital toward a $210 million expansion and renovation project aimed to increase the hospital’s capacity and add nearly 600 jobs, according to a news release from Christiana Care Health System.

Officials from AstraZeneca said the donation was part of the company’s commitment to strengthening and improving the heath of patients in their community, according to the release.

The renovation project is the second largest in Christiana Care’s history and includes an upgraded emergency department, a new surgical suite, 120 new private patient rooms, a new ICU, a Center for Advance Joint Replacement, a new patient tower and a new medical office building.
