American Organization of Nurse Executives has a new president-elect: 4 things to know

Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP, RN, vice president of patient care and system chief nurse executive at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System, is the 2019 board president-elect for the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Four things to know:

1. Ms. Fuchs, a previous AONE board member, will become president of the board in January 2020.

2. She played a key role at Duke University Health System and several Duke hospitals achieving Magnet designations through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

3. She also serves as associate dean of clinical affairs for the Duke University School of Nursing.

4. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a Robert Wood Johnson executive nurse fellow.
