Medicare payments are expected to be cut by more than 23 percent on Dec. 1, with an additional 6.5 percent cut following on Jan. 1. The message from the AMA warned the Medicare will damage access to care for seniors and baby boomers entering Medicare in January.
AMA President Cecil B. Wilson, MD, said many physicians “will be forced to consider changes including limiting the number of Medicare patients they can accept” if the cuts go through, according to the release.
