The Board previously approved a similar recommendation for Crystal Lake-based Centegra Health System’s CON request to build a facility in nearby Huntley, Ill.
Both systems have proposed 128-bed hospitals, and both filed CON applications on Dec. 29.
However, the influence the Board holds with the IHFSRB is unclear. “I don’t think any of us are qualified to conclude if a hospital is necessary here or there,” said one Board member in the report.
