In comments submitted to the HHS’ Office of Inspector General and CMS, the AHA supported the proposed rule that would extend the protections to 2016. It also recommended that the rule continue to explicitly include hospitals and health systems within the scope of donors protected, and the OIG and CMS should remove a confusing statement about covered technology from the preamble.
