SAN DIEGO, CA August 2, 2016 Accumen Inc. has announced their newest Lab Excellence partner, Mercy Health, in a multi-year engagement to create world class laboratories for patients and caregivers, delivering highest quality and customer service at lower costs.
Mercy Health is the seventh largest Catholic health care system in the United States and has more than 30 hospital-based laboratories and several clinic-based laboratories. The system is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri and includes 46 acute care and specialty hospitals. Their system contains more than 700 physician practices and outpatient facilities, 40,000 co-workers, and more than 2,000 Mercy Clinical physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
“With healthcare systems, transforming the laboratory is usually overlooked,” said Jeff Osborne, Chief Executive Officer at Accumen. “Mercy Health’s commitment to patient care as well as patient safety is what will make this partnership ideal for transforming and improving the role of the lab.”
Accumen will implement a Lab Transformation Model with Mercy Health that will deliver significant improvements in laboratory services; benefiting patients, employees, physicians, and the hospital’s financials. The partnership aims to enhance laboratory quality and service, enable appropriate blood and test utilization, and decrease laboratory costs.
