ACA repeal not discussed at Republican Camp David retreat

Republican Congressional leaders met with President Donald Trump over the weekend at Camp David to discuss their legislative agenda for 2018, though repealing and replacing the ACA was reportedly not considered, according to The Hill.

Some GOP lawmakers have expressed a desire to repeal and replace the ACA in 2018, but Senate Majority Whip John Coryn, R-Texas, said the party leadership did not discuss the issue over the weekend.

"There's some work we need to do on the healthcare front, but I would hope we're in a position to do things on a bipartisan basis," Mr. Coryn said, according to The Hill.

Though Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., expressed his desire to reform Medicare and Medicaid in December, attendees from the Camp David meeting said GOP leadership will probably narrow their entitlement reform focus to initiatives such as job training.
