In a July 11 news release, the organization said the “newly created position reinforces PA value in a modern healthcare system and AAPA’s commitment to empowering PAs to advance their careers and enhance patient health.”

Ms. Orozco’s two-year term as president and chair of the AAPA ended July 1. She has spent more than 20 years in clinical and healthcare leadership roles, including in multiple roles at Rush University System for Health in Chicago and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, also in Chicago. Most recently, Ms. Orozco was the director of advanced practice providers and a practicing PA in vascular surgery.

At Becker's 4th Annual CEO + CFO Roundtable, taking place November 2–5 in Chicago, more than 1,500 hospital and health system executives tackle decisions that determine whether organizations thrive or merely survive: protecting margins under cost pressure, choosing where to grow, renegotiating payer relationships, stabilizing the workforce and proving real ROI on technology.
