The group aims to import some of the cancer medicines and eventually manufacture the drugs on its own.
The shortage has forced prices for some cancer drugs to increase twentyfold and has delayed some clinical trials for experimental cures. In addition, at least one cancer patient was turned away from a center due to a lack of medication, according to the report.
The government is considering solutions to the shortage, including creation of a stockpile of cancer medication.
