The following healthcare layoffs were reported by Becker's Hospital Review so far in August. The list below begins with the most recent.

1. Colorado hospital lays off 40 to improve financial health
Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colo., laid off 40 employees Aug. 14.

2. Tennova Healthcare lays off staff at 3 Tennessee hospitals
Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare laid off less than 1 percent of staff at its three Knoxville-area hospitals.

3. Shriners Hospitals for Children cuts 10% of staff at Washington facility
Shriners Hospitals for Children in Spokane, Wash., is reducing its workforce by about 10 percent as it transitions to an outpatient-focused microhospital.

4. Northwestern lays off 60 IT workers after Epic EHR rollout
Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine is laying off 60 IT staffers after it launched a new health records system in March.

5. Arizona hospital emerges from bankruptcy, lays off 60
Santa Cruz Valley Regional Hospital in Green Valley, Ariz., previously Green Valley (Ariz.) Hospital, laid off 60 employees July 31 after emerging from bankruptcy.
