Trustees of the University of Utah voted Tuesday to reinstate Mary Beckerle, PhD, as CEO of the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, according to STAT. The vote came in response to outrage among faculty of the university and institute upon Dr. Beckerle’s abrupt dismissal last week.
2. Remembering Chuck Lauer
Chuck Lauer, 85, was a legend in the healthcare arena. He passed away Sunday after a battle with leukemia. It is an understatement to say he will be greatly missed.

5. Word from the C-suite: ‘Algorithms will drive future health gains’
Lloyd Minor, MD, dean of the Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine, believes further advances in medicine and health will be tied to medical professionals’ ability to interpret massive amounts of data.
