5 hospital layoffs in July

The following layoffs at hospitals or health systems were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in July:

1. Florida hospital lays off employees
Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health has reduced its workforce, hospital officials confirmed to the Venice Gondolier Sun. The officials did not disclose the number of layoffs.

2. PeaceHealth lays off 50 employees
Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth laid off 50 employees at several locations, a spokesperson confirmed to The Register-Guard. The layoffs affect the health system's technology solutions partners division.

3. Wisconsin health system to outsource IT jobs, lay off 46 employees
Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System is outsourcing some of its IT jobs at health centers in the state to Ciox.

4. Michigan health system lays off 72 employees
Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Bronson Healthcare laid off 72 employees.

5. California health system to lay off 43 employees
King City, Calif.-based Mee Memorial Healthcare system said it is laying off 43 employees at its hospital and clinics.
