5 health-related professions make Forbes’s Best Paying Jobs of 2016 list

Forbes released its annual Best Paying Jobs of 2016, and five healthcare-related professions made the cut.

The rankings are based on CareerCast.com’s Jobs Rated Report, which evaluated jobs according to a number of metrics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Here are the top 10 highest paying jobs, ranked in order of annual income.

  1. Surgeon — $357,192
  2. Psychiatrist — $207,153
  3. U.S. military general — $205,114
  4. Public relations executive — $201,250
  5. Physician — $199,155
  6. Corporate executive — $173,256
  7. Dentist — $155,267
  8. Orthodontist — $131,214
  9. Petroleum engineer — $129,990
  10. Data scientist — $128,240
