Kathy Champa, RN, one of the bargaining unit leaders at the hospital, said the contract did not adequately address the nurses’ health insurance needs. She said one of the goals of the contract is to help recruit and retain talented nurses.
The nurse leaders will meet to determine their next step. They have not set a date for a strike.
