3 ways leaders can make their organizations fearless

The confidence to take risks is one of the trademarks of truly effective organizations, but it can be difficult to instill a culture where employees feel comfortable taking these risks, according to strategy + business.

Here are three steps leaders can take to develop a sense of psychological safety for their employees and create a fearless organization:\

1. Set the stage. Framing expectations for what you expect of employees gives them a clear vision of their end goal.

2. Invite participation. Leaders who set up formal structures for employee feedback acknowledge their own gaps in knowledge and give employees confidence that their voice is welcome.

3. Respond productively. It is vital for leaders to express their appreciation for all contributions and destigmatize any failures that result from employee feedback. This creates a culture of fearlessness and continuous learning.
