3 keys to help leaders manage stress

Stress is a natural part of any high-stakes leadership position, but if leaders don’t know how to manage their stress it can have disastrous implications not only for their own productivity but for the productivity of their team, according to the Harvard Business Review.

Listed below are three steps leaders can take to help manage their stress.

1. Take inventory of your emotions. Choose regular times throughout the day to look inward and ask yourself how you are doing and what you are feeling.

2. Label your thoughts and feelings. It is easier to manage your emotions if you can put a name to them.

3. Listen to your inner emotional lookout and write notes from a third-person perspective about how you feel during especially stressful moments.
