St. Raphael officials have estimated the loss of about 200 jobs, but a spokesperson said that figure is only an estimate. If current job vacancies are held open in anticipation of the merger, employees may be able to find other job opportunities, lowering the number of layoffs.
The spokesperson said many of the affected positions will be in management and “other roles that are duplicative in an integrated hospital and tend to be in infrastructure or back office roles,” according to the report.
