Caregroup Healthcare System in Boston Settles Lunchbreak Pay Lawsuit for $8.5M

Caregroup Healthcare System, including its flagship, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, will pay $8.5 million to settle a class-action lawsuit brought by employees who said they weren’t paid for work during lunchbreaks, according to a report by the Boston Herald.

Similar lawsuits have been filed against many other hospitals across the country.

In addition to 621-bed Beth Israel, a Harvard teaching affiliate, Caregroup operates Mount Auburn Hospital, New England Baptist Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham Campus.
