More women have been elevated into the hospital and health system CFO role recently through robust leadership pipelines, targeted sponsorship initiatives, and the growth of employee resource groups designed to support advancement.
Female CFOs bring exceptional financial acumen and strategic insight to their organizations. They lead the way in shaping long-term financial plans, managing annual budgets, guiding partnerships and overseeing expansions, ensuring their hospitals and health systems remain strong, sustainable and positioned for continued success.

Claire Agnew. CFO for Valleywise Health (Phoenix). Ms. Agnew leads the financial strategy and operations for Arizona’s only public teaching hospital and safety net system. As CFO of a healthcare system with a high percentage of uninsured and underinsured patients, she has creatively secured funding and managed resources to support the systemwide mission. She played a pivotal role in a successful bond offering during the pandemic, securing $1.4 billion in buy orders on $245 million available bonds at a low interest rate, significantly benefiting Maricopa County taxpayers. Ms. Agnew also navigated the system through a cyberattack on its payroll system, ensuring employees were paid and creating new pay methodologies to address staffing shortages. Her efforts have also secured substantial grants, including $16 million to expand mental health services, $20 million for recruitment and retention bonuses, and $1.3 million for renovation and improvements at Valleywise Community Health Centers.
Dawn Ahner. Senior Vice President and CFO of Summa Health (Akron, Ohio). Ms. Ahner joined Summa at the end of 2021 from Renown Health in Reno, Nev. She has 30 years of experience in healthcare in a variety of roles, including financial operations, accounting, accounts payable, payroll decisions, taxes, treasury, reimbursements, patient access, medical records, supply, security and more. She oversees Summa’s financial operations, which includes three hospital campuses, a physician group and more than 8,000 employees.
Wendy Apland. CFO of Adventist Health Columbia Gorge (The Dalles, Ore.). Ms. Apland has served as CFO of several health systems, including the Inland Northwest Region of MultiCare Health System and PeaceHealth. She has also held positions in budgeting, analysis and financial analysis at other health systems. She has led and managed teams ranging in size from four to 200 employees. She is responsible for overall financial performance and strategic planning at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge, which includes 850 employees and nearly 100 clinicians.
Maria Arias-Clarke. CFO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens (Jamaica, N.Y.). Ms. Arias-Clarke oversees all financial operations at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, including oversight of the affiliation agreement with New York City-based Mount Sinai. She provides financial oversight of hospital operations, strategic leadership, budget, patient accounts and payroll. Additionally, she plays a fundamental leadership role in ongoing transformation efforts aimed at securing and recouping funds the hospital needs to provide its patients with quality care. She brings over 25 years of experience in financial management and administrative operations to her role. She is also a member of the hospital’s senior cabinet, a group that supports decision-making and communication efforts for the hospital.
Christine Asato. Regional CFO for the Kauai Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (Honolulu). Ms. Asato, a financial healthcare management executive with over two decades of experience, is responsible for revenue cycle, financial reporting, treasury management, financial analyses, and information technology for the Kauai region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. She also formulates and implements the financial strategies for the region. Before joining the Kauai region, Ms. Asato acted as the State of Hawaii’s lead practice facilitator for the comprehensive primary care program and served as the director of internal audit and then the director of business intelligence at Hawaii Health Systems. As CFO, she is known for upholding high performance and ethical standards.
Cassie Ball. CFO at Colleton Medical Center (Walterboro, S.C.). Ms. Ball works with Colleton’s senior team, departmental leadership, bedside and frontline teams to ensure the hospital has adequate resources for providing top patient care. She is responsible for the annual budget and month-end close processes, assuring financials are accurately stated and utilizing measures of progress toward targets and goals. She has nearly two decades of experience in hospital leadership and operations. She also provides leadership to the accounting office, health information management unit, patient access, materials management, case management and the wound clinic. She has held CFO and compliance officer positions at other hospitals.
Amanda L. Barash. Senior Vice President and CFO of MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Health Research Institute (Washington, D.C.). Ms. Barash brings nearly two decades of financial leadership and strategic expertise across complex healthcare systems to her role as senior vice president and CFO for MedStar Health Research Institute and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She oversees the research institute’s research finance team and leads initiatives in strategic planning, revenue optimization, operational transformation and research administration. Her career began in research administration at Purdue University supporting the National Science Foundation’s network for computational nanotechnology, establishing a foundation for her continued commitment to academic research. Ms. Barash has since held senior financial roles including director of finance at Indiana University School of Medicine and Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health, vice president of medical group finance at Winchester, Va.-based Valley Health and CFO for Sentara Norfolk (Va.) General Hospital and Sentara enterprise pharmacy.
Jill Batty. CFO of Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance. Ms. Batty joined Cambridge Health Alliance as CFO in 2014 after spending time as senior vice president of finance and CFO of Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Keene, N.H. Her 20-plus years of experience in leadership molded her background in transitioning organizations from fee-for-service to population health management and navigating reimbursement shifts while generating significant operating margin improvements. Ms. Batty is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has experience as a strategist, healthcare consultant and financial executive.
Colleen Blye. Executive Vice President, CFO and Chief Business Officer for Montefiore Medicine (Bronx, N.Y.). Ms. Blye, as executive vice president, CFO and chief business officer for Montefiore Medicine, leads the financial strategy and operations of both Montefiore Health System and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She oversees a broad portfolio that includes enterprise finance, IT services, payer relations and population health management. During her tenure, Ms. Blye has transformed Montefiore’s IT services by integrating digital tools and advanced analytics. She navigates the challenging financial landscape at Montefiore, where 85% of patients are covered by Medicare and Medicaid, often at reimbursement rates below the cost of care. Ms. Blye’s is currently focused on navigating today’s financial landscape, including rising operating costs, evolving reimbursement structures and ongoing pressure on patient volumes. Focused on driving growth while advocating for fair reimbursement to provide care for Montefiore’s patient population, she has achieved a multi-year financial transformation, returning the system to profitability following pandemic-related losses. Additionally, she works closely with government entities to advocate for sustainable funding and payment models. Ms. Blye was instrumental in helping pave the way for Montefiore to partner with leaders such as Amazon One Medical, expanding access to seamless coordinated primary and specialty care, as well as with AWS, a key component of Montefiore’s ongoing digital transformation work.
Rachal Bracker. Vice President and Group CFO for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, Texas Health Azle and Texas Health Specialty Hospital. Ms. Bracker serves as group financial officer for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, Texas Health Azle and Texas Health Specialty Hospital, where she evaluates financial performance against long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. She partners closely with clinical leaders to drive strategic growth in key service lines, using financial analytics to prioritize investments that expand access and strengthen margin. Ms. Bracker focuses on achieving quality and cost efficiency through structured process improvement and deployment of new technologies across inpatient and outpatient settings. Ms. Bracker’s leadership extends across the North Texas healthcare ecosystem through board and committee roles with organizations such as Texas Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth, the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council and multiple joint ventures, as well as participation in Healthcare Financial Management Association’s mentor/mentee program and the Dallas Fort Worth Hospital Council “Young Executive” program.
Tonya Brown. CFO of UNC Hospitals (Chapel Hill, N.C.). Ms. Brown assumed the role of CFO for UNC Hospitals in January of 2022. A results-driven leader, she was promoted to her current role after serving as vice president of finance for the organization. She brings over 20 years of financial and operational management experience to her role.
Michelle Bruhn. Executive Vice President and CFO for Phoenix Children’s. Ms. Bruhn is executive vice president and CFO of Phoenix Children’s, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing independent pediatric health systems with $1.64 billion in annual revenue, multiple hospitals, specialty centers, community practices, outpatient clinics and ambulatory surgery centers. She is responsible for maintaining financial stability, optimizing resource allocation and aligning financial strategies with the system’s mission. Working with executive leadership, Ms. Bruhn guides payer contract negotiations and oversees more than $300 million in capital investments for new regional sites, including the opening of Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Ariz., a major NICU expansion at the Thomas Campus in Phoenix and ongoing construction of Phoenix Children’s Hospital – East Valley in Gilbert, Ariz. Under her financial stewardship, Phoenix Children’s has sustained strong margins and cash flow, supporting the launch of a research institute with more than 700 active studies, 640 investigators and 100 research staff while significantly expanding its physician and specialist workforce. Ms. Bruhn is recognized nationally for her expertise in pediatric payer negotiations, successfully navigating complex disputes to protect access for a vulnerable patient population and sharing her insights as a speaker to help other systems manage similar challenges. Her background includes nearly 24 years in financial and operational leadership roles at Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health and almost a decade in public accounting focused on healthcare, hospitality and nonprofit organizations.
Laura Buczkowski. Executive Vice President and CFO for WellSpan Health (York, Pa.). Ms. Buczkowski, executive vice president and CFO at WellSpan Health, manages the organization’s financial resources with a focus on advancing its mission and transforming the health system. Since joining WellSpan in November 2020, Ms. Buczkowski has enhanced strategic direction across various departments, including access, scheduling, finance and supply chain, which has subsequently impacted all hospitals within the system, including its rural facilities. Under her guidance, WellSpan has reported a notable $344.4 million in community benefits and expanded covered lives from 30,000 to over 200,000 in three years. Ms. Buczkowski’s strategic initiatives, including partnerships for co-branded Medicare Advantage products, have led to significant revenue increases and expense reductions. Before joining WellSpan, she was CFO for Marriottsville, Md.-based Atlantic Group of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
Jacqueline Cabe. CFO of UW Medicine (Seattle) and Vice President for Medical Affairs of the University of Washington. Ms. Cabe serves as CFO of UW Medicine and vice president for medical affairs at the University of Washington. In this role, she oversees the financial success of the health system. Ms. Cabe has previous experience as a partner with KPMG.
Jessica Cahill. CFO of Manning Family Children’s (New Orleans). Ms. Cahill oversees all financial operations for Manning Family Children’s, spanning accounting, budgeting, financial planning, reimbursement and revenue cycle management. She previously served as vice president of finance and analytics and earlier as hospital controller, following a public accounting career leading healthcare audit engagements. Ms. Cahill partners with financial planning, revenue cycle, materials management and accounting teams to strengthen fiscal discipline and support high-quality pediatric care delivery. Throughout her tenure at the hospital, she has worked on expanding financial analytics capabilities, optimizing reimbursement functions and enhancing financial reporting processes. Ms. Cahill’s operational insight is grounded in more than a decade of progressive leadership within the broader New Orleans-based LCMC Health system and a strong foundation in healthcare accounting.
Pamela Cassara. CFO at Cook County Health (Chicago). Ms. Cassara joined Cook County Health as CFO in 2021, bringing 25 years of experience in healthcare finance roles to the table. In her current role, she is in charge of CCH’s financial planning, reporting, revenue cycle, operating and capital budgeting. Additionally, she supervises the health system’s reimbursement strategy, cost accounting, and managed care. Under her guidance, CCH is optimizing its reimbursement for the services provided, enabling the health system to reinvest the funds into charitable care services for patients who depend on CCH for their medical needs.
Marie Castro. Vice President and CFO for Midland (Texas) Health. As vice president and CFO at Midland Health, Ms. Castro is responsible for steering the organization’s financial systems and aligning operations with its mission and vision. With 25 years of experience in healthcare finance, Ms. Castro has been instrumental in improving Midland Health’s financial performance, enhancing its competitive position and securing funding for significant projects like the $157 million facility master plan. Since she assumed the role in September 2022, her strategic leadership has led to consistent financial stability and growth for the organization. In addition to her role at the health system, she serves on the board of directors for the Lone Star Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Rebecca Cheng. CFO of California Hospital Medical Center (Los Angeles). Ms. Cheng joined California Hospital Medical Center as CFO in May 2014. She brings 28 years of experience to her role, having served as CFO and chief staffing officer at Corona Medical Center most recently. Ms. Cheng has also held CFO positions at Community Hospital of Los Gatos (Calif.), Coastal Community Hospital in Santa Ana, Calif., and Beverly Hills (Calif.) Medical Center.
Carol Crews. Executive Vice President and CFO for Tanner Health (Carrollton, Ga.). Ms. Crews serves as executive vice president and CFO for Tanner Health, where she oversees all business-related functions including budgeting, audits, government filings, accounting, payroll, patient financial services, registration and scheduling, health information management and revenue integrity. Ms. Crews has led initiatives to enhance billing and payment processes, making financial services more accessible and easier to navigate for patients and families. She is actively engaged in the profession as a member of the West Georgia chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Georgia Hospital Association.
Michele Cusack. Executive Vice President and CFO of Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.). Ms. Cusack oversees financial operations for Northwell Health, a $22.6 billion system with more than 104,000 employees, 28 hospitals, and more than 1,100 ambulatory and urgent care locations. She guided the organization through the financial pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic, prioritizing uninterrupted patient care while driving systemwide performance through process improvement, reimbursement strategy, tax planning and automation initiatives. Ms. Cusack manages an annual capital budget exceeding $1 billion and maintains relationships with investment bankers and rating agencies to ensure capital market access and protect the system’s financial position. She played a central role in Northwell’s merger with Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health, creating the largest health system in the Northeast and expanding access to more than 13 million residents across New York and western Connecticut. Ms. Cusack’s long tenure at Northwell includes developing tax strategies, securing debt financing, optimizing revenue cycle operations, and elevating the system’s capabilities in population health and risk-based contracting. She also contributes to governance through administrative roles on the finance and audit committees of the board of trustees and serves on Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business dean’s advisory board.
Deborah Dage. Senior Vice President and CFO at Saint Francis Health System (Tulsa, Okla.). Ms. Dage is responsible for all financial activity, revenue cycle, supply chain and managed contract operations for St. Francis. She helped the system to launch the Xavier Clinic, a free clinic for undocumented, uninsured patients in the region. She also helped the system launch a clinic for women that covers 100% of the cost of delivering a baby. Ms. Dage began at St. Francis 25 years ago, overseeing home health, hospice and the durable medical equipment group. In 2021, she was named CFO of the health system.
Melissa Damm. CFO of Providence Central Division (Portland, Ore.). Ms. Damm is CFO of the central division at Providence, which includes the health system’s operations in Eastern Washington, Montana, Oregon, Texas and New Mexico. Her responsibilities include leadership of the division’s overall financial performance as well as supervising and coordinating finances of acute care, outpatient services, ambulatory care and physician divisions. In addition, Ms. Damm is in charge of managing long-term financial planning, growth initiatives, capital investments and contracting strategies. She has over two decades of experience working with Providence.
Robin Damschroder. President of Value-Based Enterprise and CFO for Henry Ford Health (Detroit). Ms. Damschroder provides strategic, financial and operational leadership for Henry Ford Health, a $12 billion integrated system with 13 hospitals, more than 550 care sites and over 50,000 employees. She oversees finance, revenue cycle, supply chain, business development and operations for IT, facilities and support services and community care services. Ms. Damschroder plays a central role in Henry Ford Health’s value-based transformation, guiding population health initiatives and developing long-term financial plans that fund the system’s 2030 strategic investments. She also serves on the boards of the Henry Ford Health-MSU Health Sciences Center, Truveta and Iodine, contributing expertise in academic partnership, data innovation and revenue cycle strategy. In addition, she supports community organizations including the American Heart Association Detroit Heart Walk, United Way’s community impact board and Detroit’s “Women of Tomorrow” mentoring program.
Stephanie Daubert. CFO of Nebraska Medicine (Omaha). Ms. Daubert oversees financial operations for Nebraska Medicine while also leading the system’s facilities management and planning, as well as physical security functions. With three decades of service, she brings deep institutional knowledge shaped by a career that began as a unit secretary and advanced through progressively senior roles in accounting and finance. She previously served as CFO of Bellevue (Neb.) Medical Center and spent 12 years as controller for the system’s flagship, Nebraska Medical Center, strengthening operational performance and financial stewardship across the enterprise. In her current role, Ms. Daubert provides strategic financial leadership that supports system growth, infrastructure planning and long-term sustainability. She is known for her steady guidance, collaborative approach and commitment to aligning resources with mission-driven priorities. Ms. Daubert also serves on the boards of CyncHealth, CyncHealth Advisors, CyncHealth Foundation, Building Healthy Futures, the Durham Museum, Nebraska Health Partners and the Nebraska Health Network.
Liz Daunt-Samford. CFO of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (Washington, D.C.). Ms. Daunt-Samford oversees financial strategy and operations for MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, a 609-bed academic medical center known for its excellence in neurosciences, transplant, cancer and gastroenterology. She brings decades of experience in financial stewardship and operational leadership, guiding budgeting, financial performance and strategic resource allocation across a complex clinical enterprise. Prior to joining MedStar Georgetown, she served as vice president and chief financial officer for Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare’s University Hospital Division, where she provided financial oversight for two hospitals with more than 2,600 licensed beds and over $7 billion in annual net revenues. Her portfolio at Emory included accounting, finance, supply chain, procedural operations and care coordination. Ms. Daunt-Samford is committed to aligning financial planning with clinical and academic priorities and aims to support MedStar Georgetown’s continued growth, innovation and patient-centered care.
Staci Dickerson. Executive Vice President and CFO of Banner Health (Phoenix). Bringing substantial prior financial leadership experience, Ms. Dickerson joined Banner Health in 2023. During this time, she led numerous efforts to strengthen performance, including implementing $171 million in financial improvement initiatives in 2024 alone. Initiatives focus on revenue cycle improvements, supply chain standardization, pricing, productivity improvements, and reductions in external contract labor and lengths of stay. Additional efforts on growth and diversification in 2024 increased revenues to $15.6 billion, up from $12.5 billion in 2022, and increased premium revenues as a percent of total revenue to 25.4%, up from 23.8% in 2022. Accomplishments also include the development of an integrated long-range strategic and financial plan, and the improvement of the consumer experience with consolidation of 99% of patient bills into a single payment portal. Additionally, she led efforts to redesign capital allocation and budgeting, improved budget and forecast setting, strengthened enterprise risk management programs, and enhanced leadership and planning efforts to navigate current health policy risk. Her previous system roles include serving as senior vice president of finance and CFO for San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare.
Julie Dircks. CFO of Jackson North Medical Center (North Miami Beach, Fla.). Ms. Dircks leads the financial planning, budgeting and reporting at North Miami Beach’s Jackson North Medical Center. Ms. Dircks also led the hospital’s $100 million modernization project. She brought 16 years of experience within healthcare finance. Prior to Ms. Dircks’s CFO role at Jackson North Medical Center, she served as CFO at HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, Fla. and as associate vice president of finance at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Fla.
Lori Donaldson. CFO of UC San Diego Health. Ms. Donaldson is the CFO of UC San Diego Health, overseeing the health system’s financial strategies, operating and capital budgets and financial reporting systems and controls. She oversees a budget of over $3 million. Ms. Donaldson is also responsible for planning and executing strategic partnerships and financial planning for the system’s capital projects. In addition to this role, Ms. Donaldson serves as a board member for the Bannister Family House and is an active supporter of the La Jolla Family House.
Leigh Ehrlich. Executive Vice President and CFO for Main Line Health (Radnor, Pa.). Ms. Ehrlich serves as executive vice president and CFO of Main Line Health, where she oversees financial planning and analysis, capital management, treasury, revenue cycle, supply chain, payer strategy and internal audit. She is known for tailoring complex financial narratives for the board, senior leadership and frontline teams in ways that drive alignment and action. Ms. Ehrlich plays a central role in shaping and advancing Main Line Health’s strategy, ensuring that financial plans and capital deployments support long-term organizational priorities and clinical excellence. Her leadership helps connect financial performance with mission execution, motivating stakeholders at every level to work toward shared goals. Under her influence, Main Line Health has strengthened its position as a leading regional health system, including national recognition in 2023 for employee experience. Ms. Ehrlich also extends her impact into the community through service on multiple boards.
Kim Elyanow. Vice President of Finance and CFO of Johns Hopkins National Capital Region (Washington, D.C.). Ms. Elyanow oversees financial analysis and decision-making, capital planning, budget and reimbursement, accounting, revenue and expense management, and financial growth strategies at Johns Hopkins National Capital Region. Additionally, Ms. Elyanow is responsible for planning and supporting the expansion of clinical services at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. and Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md., as well as the ambulatory growth strategy for the National Capital Region. Prior to this role, Ms. Elyanow served as the regional CFO for Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was also responsible for managing $3.8 billion in operating revenue as regional CFO of Tenet Healthcare’s 17-hospital coastal division.
Bridgett Feagin. Executive Vice President and CFO of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (Hartford, Conn.). As executive vice president and CFO of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Ms. Feagin is responsible for leading the health system’s financial planning, analysis and operations, as well as directly overseeing the medical system information solutions and technology division. In addition to her role at Connecticut Children’s, Ms. Feagin also serves as executive lead for the Children’s Health Consortium. Ms. Feagin has over two decades of financial experience, having previously served as CFO for Detroit Medical Center’s seven hospitals and United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
Chris Forkner. Executive Vice President Corporate Affairs, CFO and Assistant Treasurer of National Jewish Health (Denver). Ms. Forkner is responsible for overseeing the overall corporate strategy and managing the health system’s relationships with external stakeholders. As CFO, Ms. Forkner works closely with the executive team to make strategic financial decisions that align with the organization’s financial goals, ensuring its fiscal health. National Jewish Health is the only facility in the world dedicated solely to treating patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders.
Carrie Fuller Spencer. CFO of University of Rochester (N.Y.) Strong Memorial Hospital. Ms. Fuller Spencer became interim CFO at Strong Memorial Hospital in October 2017 and, in 2018, was appointed CFO of Strong Hospital and Highland Hospital, both in the University of Rochester health system. She has a background in healthcare finances and experience developing and managing annual capital and operating budgets.
Lisa Gildon. Vice President and Group CFO for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman. Ms. Gildon serves as vice president and group CFO for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman, where she oversees financial performance, capital planning and long-range budgeting aligned with system goals. She has led the financial design and execution of major capital projects, including a new tower, operating room expansion and behavioral health unit growth, ensuring threshold investments meet volume, quality and return on investment targets. As executive sponsor for charge capture and audit redesign, Ms. Gildon implemented new processes and team structures that increased gross revenue by 11% in radiology, surgery and acute care. She also improved patient access services to top-decile performance in admission, registration and scheduling metrics, while streamlining surgery scheduling to strengthen physician office coordination and the patient experience. Systemwide, Ms. Gildon co-developed standard position control and staffing grid tools that boosted nursing and ancillary productivity by 9% and supported retention across the Texas Health Hospital Channel. She also sponsored a product value analysis committee that reduced spending on high-cost supplies and implants by 12%. Her leadership beyond the organization includes board roles with City House Plano and multiple civic and professional groups.
Lisa Goodlett. Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer for Duke University Health System (Durham, N.C.). Ms. Goodlett is senior vice president, CFO and treasurer for Duke University Health System, where she ensures the financial stability of the integrated system. Dana Haering. Executive Vice President and CFO of Stanford Medicine Children’s Health (Palo Alto, Calif.). Ms. Haering was named interim CFO in 2013 and promoted to CFO in 2014. She spent more than 20 years in the accounting industry, serving healthcare organizations that include academic medical centers, community hospitals and health plans. She also spent time as a senior manager at KPMG in the healthcare practice.
Amy Hatcher. Executive Vice President and CFO of Children’s Nebraska (Omaha). Ms. Hatcher has served as the executive vice president and CFO of Children’s Nebraska for close to 10 years. Children’s Nebraska is the only full-service, pediatric healthcare center in the state of Nebraska. Ms. Hatcher is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for over 50 pediatric specialty services the hospital provides to children across five states.
Kim Hebert. CFO for Ochsner Lafayette (La.) General Medical Center and Vice President of Finance for Ochsner Lafayette Region. Ms. Hebert serves as CFO for Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center and vice president of finance for Ochsner Lafayette, overseeing regional budget development, financial forecasting, service-line planning and financial operations for a network that includes the main campus, Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics, two critical access hospitals, two small acute care hospitals and a large physician practice. She leads the narrative and analytical components of monthly financial reporting, presents performance and strategy updates to the finance committee and board of trustees, and is implementing standardized reporting for operating reviews to streamline communication with Ochsner Health’s executive team. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Hebert secured substantial federal grant funding that enabled the system to maintain essential services while navigating the integration of financial systems, payroll and timekeeping associated with the merger into Ochsner. She successfully led the implementation of the Epic EHR with an emphasis on charge capture and revenue integrity, minimizing revenue disruption and supporting optimization of clinical and financial workflows. Under her guidance, employee engagement scores improved from the 39th to the 90th percentile and departmental turnover declined from 30–40% to about 5 %. Ms. Hebert also contributes to the profession nationally through multiple leadership positions with the Healthcare Financial Management Association, including service as president of the Louisiana chapter and as a national regional executive and committee chair.
Carolyn Heithaus. Executive Vice President and CFO at CalvertHealth (Prince Frederick, Md.). Ms. Heithaus joined CalvertHealth in 2017 as the executive vice president of financial services and CFO, where she is responsible for overseeing all financial functions. She has successfully streamlined budget processes, implemented efficient revenue cycle practices, and introduced a user-friendly budgeting platform. With Ms. Heithaus’ sound financial planning, CalvertHealth has been able to provide market adjustments to employees, allocate funds for annual merit increases, and generate premium savings for team members on the health system’s family plan.
Linda Hoff. CFO of Stanford (Calif.) Health Care. Ms. Hoff is CFO of Stanford Health Care, which she joined in 2017 after spending time as senior vice president and CFO of Legacy Health, an Oregon-based health system. She brought with her more than 30 years of executive and finance experience. In her role, she oversees Stanford Health Care’s finance strategy, planning and reporting.
Sophia G. Holder. Executive Vice President and CFO at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Ms. Holder oversees strategies that support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s mission of care, research and education across its $4.7-billion-a-year enterprise. She is dedicated to ensuring the system has the necessary resources for conducting innovative research, attracting and retaining top talent, and investing in community programs that impact thousands annually. Under her leadership, the system has implemented strategies to navigate financial challenges, maintaining the hospital’s financial strength. Ms. Holder is passionate about mentoring future women leaders and is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment that empowers employees to excel. She serves on the board of directors of the University City District, which aims to enhance economic vitality and quality of life in Philadelphia’s University City neighborhood, and received the Philadelphia Tribune‘s 2024 “Most Influential African Americans” award. She actively participates in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and was a featured speaker at the 2023 and 2025 “Women in Leadership” events hosted by their metro Philadelphia chapter.
Stephanie Jackman-Havey. CFO of MetroWest Medical Center (Framingham, Mass.). Ms. Jackman-Havey is CFO of MetroWest Medical Center, a system spanning two Massachusetts campuses. The system is owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. Ms. Jackman-Havey joins the system from Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Mass., and the Tenet Massachusetts market, where she served as associate CFO.
Hannah Jacobs. Senior Vice President and CFO of Frederick (Md.) Health. Ms. Jacobs was promoted to senior vice president and CFO of Frederick Health in April 2022 after having served the organization as vice president of finance since 2009. The health system, which celebrated its 120th anniversary in May 2022, employs nearly 4,000 team members. In addition to her current role, Ms. Jacobs also serves as finance chair for the YMCA of Frederick County Board of Directors.
Dawn Javersack. Senior Vice President and CFO of Nicklaus Children’s Health System (Miami). Ms. Javersack’s role as CFO of Nicklaus Children’s Health entails overseeing financial and capital planning, managed care and property accounts. She brings over 30 years of experience in finance leadership to the network, which includes outpatient centers, a multispecialty medical group practice, an ambulatory surgery center and a 501c3 fundraising arm.
Susan Jennings. CFO of UAB Health System (Birmingham, Ala.). As CFO, Ms. Jennings is a senior leader at UAB Health System, a premier academic medical center. She directs all aspects of financial reporting, including the annual operating and capital budget process, for the University Hospital and the entire health system. An advocate for diversity and female leadership, she also serves on an executive advisory board that helps develop, promote and support women leaders at UAB. She brings 35 years of experience in financial healthcare positions to the role. She first joined UAB in 2006.
Mahalee Jereos. CFO of AdventHealth Apopka (Fla.). Ms. Jereos serves as CFO of AdventHealth Apopka. The hospital opened its doors in 2017, featuring 158 private patient rooms, cutting-edge surgical suites, a diagnostic heart catheterization lab and women’s services. In her role, Ms. Jereos maintains the financial health of the hospital, overseeing the finance department and care management. She has been with AdventHealth since 2009.
Sherry Jones. CFO of Crestwood Medical Center (Huntsville, Ala.). Ms. Jones was assistant CFO for Crestwood Medical Center before being promoted to CFO in 2011. In her current position, she creates and executes strategic financial and operational plans that allow the medical center to invest in medical technology and keep nurse to patient ratios low.
Pat Keel. Executive Vice President and CFO for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.). Ms. Keel has served as CFO at St. Jude since 2016. From 2020 to 2024, she took on the additional role of chief administrative officer. Her duties as CFO include finance, supply chain, reimbursements, the revenue cycle, managed care contracting and grants. In her time at St. Jude, Ms. Keel has implemented programs that led to millions of dollars in annual savings for the hospital. She has also helped the hospital navigate disruption caused by the pandemic, ensuring institutional operations continue and supply chain needs are met. She has played an integral part in shepherding program growth and campus expansion as outlined in the hospital’s strategic plan. Her past positions include CFO and senior vice president for University Health in Shreveport and Monroe, La. In addition, she held leadership roles with Good Shepherd Health System in Longview, Texas and CHRISTUS Schumpert Health System in Shreveport. She has received several professional awards and distinctions, including being named to the Memphis Business Journal “Women in Healthcare” and “Healthcare Heroes” awards.
Julie Keese. Regional Vice President of Finance and CFO for Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic (Philadelphia) and Holy Cross Health (Silver Spring, Md.). Ms. Keese oversees financial operations for Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and Holy Cross Health, bringing more than 20 years of healthcare finance and revenue cycle expertise to the role. She has served with Holy Cross Health since 2003 and most recently held the position of vice president and CFO, where she strengthened financial performance and led key operational improvements. Ms. Keese’s recent promotion to the dual role in May 2025 reflects sustained contributions to systemwide financial stability and her deep commitment to mission-focused stewardship. Amanda Kinman. CFO for Ephraim McDowell Health (Danville, Ky.). Since becoming Ephraim McDowell Health’s CFO in August 2021, Ms. Kinman has driven continuous performance improvement, employee engagement and community partnerships. She first joined the system in August 2019 as the system director of finance. Throughout her tenure with the system, she has demonstrated expertise in leadership, relationship building, community service, strategic planning, contract negotiations, budgeting, cost savings, financial analysis and management, forecasting and more. In addition to her CFO role, she is a director of the Kentucky Healthcare Financial Management Association. She also serves on numerous committees, including the information services steering committee.
Sheryl Klink. CFO of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Ms. Klink is CFO of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, a nonprofit leader in healthcare. As CFO, Ms. Klink ensures financial viability of the organization. Her efforts support the hospital’s mission to provide excellent patient care, engage in research and drive healthcare innovation forward.
Tanya Knepp. CFO for Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital. Ms. Knepp is CFO of Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital. There, she is tasked with oversight of accounting, budgetary and financial planning activities for the hospital. She took on the role in September 2025. Previously, she served as CFO for AdventHealth Riverview (Fla.).
Gail Kosyla. Former Executive Vice President and CFO Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health. Ms. Kosyla serves as executive vice president and CFO for Yale New Haven Health, overseeing finance strategy and operations for a $6.2 billion academic health system. She is responsible for systemwide capital planning, financial reporting, treasury and performance management, ensuring that financial resources support more than 100 medical specialties across multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites. Ms. Kosyla led the acquisition and integration of PhysicianOne Urgent Care, adding 27 centers across three states to expand convenient, affordable access and complement the system’s existing urgent and orthopedic walk-in offerings. Working closely with the Yale School of Medicine and health system leadership, she has driven initiatives that significantly improved year-over-year operating results and modernized the funds-flow model to better support the school’s clinical, research and education missions. A trusted mentor, Ms. Kosyla serves as executive sponsor of “Lean In” within Yale New Haven Health, advancing leadership development and networking for women and allies across the organization. She brings decades of experience from previous healthcare roles and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, former policy development leader for the New Jersey Hospital Association, and an active advisor and fundraiser for Seton Hall University’s health administration program and the Susan G. Komen organization. She left the system at the end of October 2025.
Katie Kucera. Vice President and CFO for Carson Tahoe Health System (Carson City, Nev.). Ms. Kucera serves as vice president and CFO of Carson Tahoe Health, overseeing strategic financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle operations and financial reporting to ensure long-term fiscal sustainability. She partners closely with operational leaders across the health system to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making and enhance patient care. Since transitioning from investment and corporate finance to healthcare in 2020, Ms. Kucera has helped strengthen the system’s financial resilience through budget optimization efforts and collaborative responses to fiscal challenges. She regularly shadows frontline teams to understand day-to-day workflows and align financial strategies with operational realities. A Nevada native, Ms. Kucera also extends her impact into the community as a board member of Northern Nevada Sports and Recreation and brings prior acute-care finance leadership at Reno, Nev.-based Renown Health and earlier financial roles to her work at Carson Tahoe.
Amanda Kukich. CFO at AdventHealth Lake Nona (Fla.). Ms. Kukich serves as CFO for AdventHealth Lake Nona hospital, a state-of-the-art facility poised to redefine healthcare delivery in Orlando, Fla., one of the nation’s fastest-growing communities. With a strong commitment to innovation and excellence, Ms. Kukich plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and operational foundation of what is set to become the hospital of the future, focused on delivering preeminent, patient-centered care. She has been with AdventHealth for eight years and previously served as director of finance for AdventHealth East Orlando, a 295-bed acute care hospital, where she oversaw budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support executive decision-making and long-term strategic goals. Both AdventHealth East Orlando and AdventHealth Lake Nona are part of the health system’s Central Florida Division, which sees more than 5 million patients annually and had an operating revenue of $8.2 billion in 2024.
JoAnn Kunkel. CFO of LCMC Health (New Orleans). Ms. Kunkel serves as CFO for LCMC Health’s nine-hospital system, leading finance and accounting while acting as a strategic business advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team. She oversees systemwide financial operations, including integration of hospitals and clinics into the broader operating company and alignment of resources with organizational growth priorities. Previously, as corporate CFO of Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health, a $6 billion health system, Ms. Kunkel led the transformation of a finance organization of more than 3,000 professionals across finance, accounting, revenue cycle and analytics. In that role, she also directed operational and financial aspects of the $1 billion Sanford Health Plan, spanning commercial and individual products, multi-state exchange offerings, Medicare supplemental coverage and Medicaid expansion lines of business. Immediately prior to joining LCMC Health, Ms. Kunkel led financial affairs at the University of South Dakota, where she advanced strategic growth opportunities and health care–related initiatives.
Angela Lalas. Executive Vice President for Finance for Loma Linda (Calif.) University Health and CFO for LLUH Hospitals. Ms. Lalas spent time as Loma Linda University Health’s senior vice president for finance before being promoted executive vice president of finance and CFO in 2021. She has experience overseeing the six-hospital health system’s finances and directing the Loma Linda University Foundation. Prior to joining Loma Linda in 2006, Ms. Lalas was a senior tax consultant for Deloitte.
Kirsten Largent. CFO at OSF HealthCare. (Peoria, Ill.). Ms. Largent brings more than three decades of dedication to OSF HealthCare, where she has played an instrumental role in shaping its financial strategy through periods of both growth and challenges. Since stepping into the CFO role in November 2024, Ms. Largent has led a focused effort to improve financial performance, setting a target of a minimum of 2% operating margin for fiscal year 2026, a remarkable recovery from 0.3% in 2024 and negative 3% in 2022. Julie Lautt. CFO of Avera Health (Sioux Falls, S.D.). Ms. Lautt joined Avera Health over two decades ago and has been serving as CFO since 2020. Prior to assuming her current role, she was vice president of operational finance for the health system. She has also served as controller of managed hospitals, vice president and corporate controller and then senior vice president and CFO for the Sioux Falls-based Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center.
Anna Loomis. CFO at Renown Health (Reno, Nev.). Ms. Loomis oversees all aspects of financial management at Renown, including budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, supply chain and strategic investments. She and her team are leading efforts to strengthen Renown’s financial position, build partnerships and advance its care delivery mission. With the board, CEO and leadership, Renown has generated healthy volume growth and a strategic partnership with University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. The system’s financials and ratings rebounded significantly over the past year, given Renown’s position as the service area’s largest acute care provider and the state’s only nonprofit academic health system. Renown’s financial position has seen significant year-over-year improvement by focusing on margin enhancement and increased state provider fee funding. Key initiatives include optimizing reimbursement, reducing contract labor, decreasing length of stay, focusing on patient throughput, fostering stronger relationships with patients and purchasers, and building resilience to ensure sustainability.
Melissa Lukasick. Regional CFO for Loyola Medicine (Maywood, Ill.). Ms. Lukasick serves as regional CFO for Loyola Medicine and Trinity Health’s west/midwest service area, with financial accountability for acute care, medical group and ambulatory operations spanning Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota, California, Idaho and Oregon. She oversees teams responsible for accounting, financial operations, IT, operational excellence, payer strategy, planning, design and construction, real estate, revenue cycle and supply chain across a portfolio generating more than $9 billion in annual revenue. Ms. Lukasick has led multiple financial turnarounds by partnering with clinical and operational leaders to implement cost-saving initiatives, lean management practices and data-driven performance improvement. She spearheaded the creation of a centralized data hub that provides real-time financial and operational metrics, enabling more agile decision-making and supporting the regionalization of administrative shared services while maintaining positive margins despite industrywide pressures. Her leadership was instrumental in Trinity Health’s acquisition of Loyola Medicine, the integration of MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Ill. and the development of Loyola Medicine’s $70 million outpatient center in Tinley Park, Ill. Ms. Lukasick also contributes at the system and state levels through roles on Trinity Health’s strategic investment and administrative policy committees and the Illinois Health and Hospital Association finance and audit committee.
Laurren Lunsford. CFO of AdventHealth Kissimmee (Fla.). Ms. Lunsford has been with AdventHealth since 2018, joining as a director of finance before being promoted to CFO at the end of 2022. Previously, she spent almost 13 years at Florida Hospital working her way up to director of finance. She is also a member of the board for Family Promise of Greater Orlando.
Cheryl Matejka. Executive Vice President and CFO for Mercy (Chesterfield, Mo.). In the executive vice president and CFO role since 2022, Ms. Matejka oversees Mercy’s financial operations, including revenue cycle, supply chain and treasury services, leading to the financial successes of the $9.2 billion operating revenue health system. Her role involves close engagement with Mercy’s 1,001 physician practices, 50 hospitals and more than 52,000 caregivers, ensuring that financial decisions align with patient care. Amidst industry changes, Ms. Matejka focuses on innovative solutions like new staffing models and reward programs to attract and retain talent. She emphasizes the importance of maintaining financial strength to support Mercy’s mission and community service, while providing nearly half a billion dollars in charity care each year. She was featured on the cover of Healthcare Financial Management Association’s “Healthcare 2030” series for her work on reimagining patient-caregiver relationships. She has also spoken at industry events on labor costs and Medicare Advantage.
Brenda McCormick. Senior Vice President and CFO of Children’s Minnesota (Minneapolis). Joining Children’s Minnesota as senior vice president and CFO in 2019, Ms. McCormick took on responsibilities including leadership among financial teams for planning and analysis, controllership, treasury, strategic payer contracting, revenue cycle operations and foundation finances. In addition to her financial duties with Children’s Minnesota, Ms. McCormick also serves on the board of regents with her alma mater, St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., as well as the Ridgeview Medical Board.
Sharon McNealy. Vice President and CFO of St. Mary Medical Center (Long Beach, Calif.). Ms. McNealy is on the top leadership team for Dignity Health affiliate St. Mary Medical Center. She serves along with five other top executives to keep the system running. She helps to manage the physicians and employees who work at the facility.
Morgan Meyer. CFO of Howard County Medical Center (Saint Paul, Neb.). Ms. Meyer has led the financial strategy of Howard County Medical Center for more than a decade, guiding the rural critical access hospital through the complexities of resource-constrained care delivery. She implemented Meditech Expanse’s financial status desktop to shift the organization from retrospective reporting to real-time financial insight, enabling mid-month course corrections that improve reimbursement and reduce unnecessary spending. Ms. Meyer leveraged this technology to streamline Medicare cost reporting processes, strengthening accuracy and long-term planning. She also created a financial navigator role that uses Expanse Revenue Cycle’s patient accounting desktop to help patients manage out-of-pocket costs, secure co-pay support and access lower-cost medications, an initiative that contributed to a 42% reduction in self-pay debt. Ms. Meyer’s earlier career includes tenure as a senior audit associate at Seim Johnson.
Amy Miller. CFO of Providence Alaska Region (Anchorage). Ms. Miller has served as CFO for Providence since joining at the beginning of 2019. She spent 12.5 years working in the Providence system prior to her promotion, serving in roles including senior director of finance. She is also a certified management accountant.
Jennifer Mitzner. Executive Vice President and CFO of Baylor Scott & White Health (Dallas). In 2021, Ms. Mitzner was hired as executive vice president and CFO for Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest nonprofit health system in the state of Texas comprising 51 hospitals and over 1,100 access points. In this role, Ms. Mitzner oversees the health system’s finance, accounting and revenue cycle functions. Prior to working with Baylor Scott & White, Ms. Mitzner spent time as executive vice president of Hoag and CFO of St. Joseph Hoag Health.
Lisa Montman. Executive Vice President and CFO for HonorHealth (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Ms. Montman serves as executive vice president and CFO of HonorHealth, overseeing systemwide budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle, payer contracting, treasury and capital investment to sustain growth and clinical performance. She played a central role in the 2024 acquisition and financial integration of several former Steward Health Care hospitals, unifying revenue cycle, IT, real estate and supply contracts while supporting rapid deployment of an Epic EHR platform to standardize operations across the expanded system. Following the Change Healthcare cyber incident, Ms. Montman led the implementation of a new clearinghouse solution and restored end-to-end revenue cycle performance to baseline within five months, protecting cash flow and organizational stability. She collaborates with strategy, operations and clinical leaders to model market expansion, joint ventures and outpatient growth, while directing construction financing and real estate investments that align with the system’s mission and long-term sustainability. A mission-driven leader, Ms. Montman champions workforce stability and community investment by supporting enhanced staff compensation, employee crisis funds and nonprofit partnerships, and by serving on the board of the Glencroft Center for Modern Aging alongside prior roles with the Desert Mission Board, Healthcare Financial Management Association and Phoenix Go Red for Women.
Cecelia Moore. CFO of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.). Ms. Moore joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in August 2013 after spending time as the vice president of finance and COO for the patient revenue management organization within Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C. She was later appointed CFO of the health system while it more than doubled its operating income. In 2016, the Nashville Business Journal awarded her “CFO of the Year” in the nonprofit sector.
Tracy Moyer. Executive Vice President for Finance and CFO for Penn State Health (Hershey, Pa.). As executive vice president for finance and CFO of Penn State Health, Ms. Moyer oversees all financial operations for the health system, including reporting, revenue cycle, supply chain, treasury, reimbursement, managed care contracting, budgeting, business planning and the financial leadership teams supporting Penn State Health hospitals and medical group practices. She collaborates closely with Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine leadership and serves on multiple subsidiary boards and committees tied to joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Alisha Neal. CFO of Piedmont Macon (Ga.). Ms. Neal joined Piedmont as its CFO in June 2021. Previously, she spent six years at Ochsner Health, including two-and-a-half years as its CFO. She has also worked for other systems including the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and St. Vincent’s Health System, both based in Little Rock, Ark. She helps the system to provide $1.4 billion in uncompensated care and community benefit programming to the communities it serves every year.
Kaley Neal. CFO of Shenandoah (Iowa) Medical Center. Ms. Neal became financial controller of Shenandoah Medical Center in March 2016 and was promoted to CFO in July 2017. In her role, Ms. Neal oversees financial operations for the 25-bed critical access hospital with over 300 employees. The hospital’s main campus also includes a physician clinic, outpatient clinic, wellness center and home health and hospice.
Priscilla Needham. Vice President and CFO of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Ms. Needham became CFO of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in January 2023. She has previously served as CFO of Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston and Billings (Mont.) Clinic. In her role, Ms. Needham oversees the financial operations for a 772-bed acute care hospital, a surgery and adult ICU center, a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, three residency programs and 38 affiliated physician practices.
Susan Nelson. Executive Vice President and CFO of MedStar Health (Columbia, Md.). Ms. Nelson is responsible for MedStar Health’s finances, financial planning and reporting. She also oversees revenue cycle, capital management and investment activities for the nonprofit health system. Ms. Nelson joined MedStar in 2005 as vice president of operations after spending time as senior manager of assurance and advisory business services for Ernst & Young. In addition to her role at MedStar, Ms. Nelson currently serves on the board for Chesapeake Regional Information System for Our Patients.
Cindie Nobles. CFO at Fairview Park Hospital (Dublin, Ga.). Ms. Nobles oversees accounting, revenue integrity, supply chain, patient access, IT and case management for Fairview Park. She also handles the system’s financial reporting, including audits, monthly operating reviews and more. She is a member of the ethics and compliance committee, a chief staffing officer for productivity management and benchmarking and an effective leader. Ms. Nobles has been with Fairview for more than 30 years.
Nikki Ochoa. CFO of St. Joseph’s Medical Center (Stockton, Calif.). Ms. Ochoa is the CFO of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, a Dignity Health facility. The hospital is home to a large physician staff and a great number of total employees. In her role, Ms. Ochoa is responsible for the oversight of all the medical center’s financial operations and strategies for success. In addition, Ms. Ochoa is the treasurer on the St. Joseph’s Foundation board of directors.
Patricia Steeves O’Neil. Senior Vice President and CFO of Rush (Chicago). Ms. O’Neil began her permanent role as senior vice president and CFO of Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center in May 2021. Prior to the permanent promotion, she had served as acting senior vice president and CFO since May 2020. She demonstrated her financial leadership prowess during the pandemic, preserving cash, securing a $100 million liquidity line of credit, managing stimulus funding compliance and more. To date, she has spent over two decades working within the health system.
Lynnette Parr. CFO and COO for Down East Community Hospital (Machias, Maine) and Calais (Maine) Community Hospital. Ms. Parr serves as CFO and COO for both Down East Community Hospital and Calais Community Hospital. She is leading the strategic plan for 2024, working to streamline the operating room, and playing a large role in provider recruitment and retention. Over the last year, she has also taken on responsibility for the physician practices in Machias and has worked with the practice management team to drive change. At the National Rural Health Day celebration held at the State House in Augusta, Maine in 2023, Ms. Parr was presented with a “Rural Health Community Star Award” for her efforts in maintaining health care access across the state and for helping to bring Calais Community Hospital out of bankruptcy.
Janice Polo. CFO of BayCare Health System (Clearwater, Fla.). Ms. Polo is CFO of BayCare Health System, a $6.2 billion nonprofit academic health system, where she directs all financial strategy and operations to support the organization’s community health mission. She oversees financial reporting, accounting, revenue cycle management, financial planning and analysis, managed care contracting, treasury, capital planning, risk management and BayCarePlus, the system’s Medicare Advantage plan. Her leadership has enabled the system to fund one new build and one replacement facility, secure land for a 17th hospital, plan a new children’s hospital and expand outpatient services amid challenging labor dynamics. Ms. Polo was a key architect of “BayCare 2.0”, a major restructuring that ended a decades-long joint operating agreement, converted BayCare to a fully community-owned system, and involved issuing $1.3 billion in new debt to redeem assets and secure long-term independence. She strengthened planning capabilities by implementing an 18-month rolling forecast for operating and capital plans, adopting a rolling long-range financial plan and integrating these tools with the system’s strategic plan. A champion of financial transparency and patient experience, Ms. Polo established a central pricing office, doubled the number of financial health coaches and redesigned billing statements, contributing to a financial Net Promoter Score of 40 and helping BayCare maintain an Aa2 Moody’s rating and achieve a 9.6% operating margin in 2024.
Alice Pope. Executive Vice President and CFO of Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Ms. Pope oversees Novant Health’s financial strategy, driving systemwide alignment of capital planning, resource allocation and growth initiatives. She led the development of the system’s comprehensive financial assistance policy, contributing to more than $1.6 billion in community benefits delivered in 2024. Under her leadership, Novant Health achieved a landmark financial year with audited 2024 results of nearly $10.2 billion in operating revenue and $919.8 million in net income. Ms. Pope has championed major community investments, including a $1 million workforce housing initiative on Hilton Head Island, S.C., supporting essential workers and strengthening talent retention. She also mobilized financial resources following Hurricane Helene to deploy mobile clinics, expand virtual care and provide shelter support across Western North Carolina. Her recent strategic contributions include advancing the Bluffton, S.C. hospital campus, opening Scotts Hill (N.C.) Medical Plaza, and launching a hospital-at-home program supported by a $2.7 million philanthropic gift.
Monica Price. Vice President and Group CFO for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne. Ms. Price serves as vice president and group financial officer for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne, where she oversees financial performance, capital planning and budget alignment with long-term operational goals. She partners with physicians, clinical leaders and frontline teams to understand service-line operations, resolve root-cause issues and design processes that balance financial outcomes with workflow and patient care impact. Over the past year, Ms. Price expanded service-line reporting to areas such as wound care, physical therapy, outpatient imaging and cardiac rehab, equipping executives and operational leaders with granular insights to drive margin improvement, market awareness and expense management. Under her guidance, supply chain compliance at her facilities has exceeded 95%, achieved by using data to identify outliers and supporting appropriate product standardization. Ms. Price invests heavily in talent development, mentoring emerging finance leaders through programs like the entity finance officer development program. She was recently promoted to group finance officer for the Mid Cities Market, where she will support eight hospitals across the Texas Health system. She is also the executive sponsor of the “Culture and Connection” team and a board member for joint venture entities.
Julia Puchtler. Senior Vice President and CFO of University of Pennsylvania Health System (Philadelphia). Ms. Puchtler serves as senior vice president and CFO for Penn Medicine’s University of Pennsylvania Health System, providing executive leadership for revenue cycle, corporate finance, financial operations and budgeting, billing compliance, and supply chain and procurement. She oversees financial performance and capital planning for a multistate academic health system that includes seven hospitals, 13 multispecialty centers and hundreds of outpatient sites across three states. Previously, Ms. Puchtler was CFO of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she managed finances for a 1,083-bed academic medical campus delivering more than 2.2 million outpatient visits annually. Since joining Penn Medicine in 2015 as vice president for financial operations and budgeting, she has played a key role in major initiatives such as planning for the Clifton Center for Medical Breakthroughs, leading revenue and expense planning for expanded inpatient, procedural and emergency department capacity. Prior to joining the system, she held leadership roles at Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health and Newtown Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East.
Megan Rath. CFO of South Central Health (Wishek, N.D.). Ms. Rath serves as CFO of South Central Health, where she manages budgets, establishes financial policy, oversees margins and debt, and directs decisions related to hospital assets and resource allocation. She develops and implements financial strategies designed to strengthen business performance in a rural setting, aligning financial stewardship with the organization’s mission of serving its community. Through disciplined financial management and operational collaboration, Ms. Rath has helped lead South Central Health from the brink of closure to a position of financial stability, preserving local access to care. She works closely with leaders across the organization to ensure that investment, cost management and reimbursement decisions support both sustainability and patient services. Ms. Rath’s focus on data-driven decision-making and prudent risk management has stabilized the organization’s financial footing and created a platform for future growth.
Lindsay Rehn. CFO of Piedmont Mountainside (Jasper, Ga.). As CFO of Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, Ms. Rehn manages the financial planning of the hospital to allow Piedmont Mountainside to accomplish its goals of ensuring clinical and service quality, patient safety and credentialing of medical staff members and allied health professionals. While Ms. Rehn works on the hospital’s financial health internally, the hospital has partnered with Curae, a patient financing platform, to bring more accessible financing options to its patients.
Colleen Reid. CFO of Carson Valley Health (Gardnerville, Nev.). Ms. Reid serves as CFO of Carson Valley Health, overseeing revenue cycle, materials management, finance and accounting, payroll, third-party reimbursement and managed care contracting for the rural health system. With more than 25 years of experience, she balances organizational financial health with a strong focus on staff and patients, using data to determine how best to sustain care while supporting employees. Ms. Reid played a central role in funding the system’s 54,000-square-foot expansion completed in 2024, securing $40.1 million in low-rate, tax-exempt bonds without guaranteed debt to bring long-planned facility growth to fruition. She has led initiatives such as systemwide success sharing and permanent wage increases during periods of inflation, refinements to reimbursement and managed care contracts, and operational improvements including electronic emergency department time tracking. Ms. Reid meets individually with department managers during budget cycles, maintains an open-door policy, emphasizes mentorship, and partners closely with operations to break down silos between finance and clinical teams. She previously served as controller at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland (Calif.) and South Lake Tahoe, Calif.-based Barton Health, has held multiple finance roles in the Dallas–Fort Worth area in Texas, and contributes to her community as a corporate representative and board director for the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley.
LuCinda Rider. Vice President and CFO of UHS Delaware Valley Hospital (Walton, N.Y.). Ms. Rider is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the progressive critical access hospital. Some of her notable accomplishments include consistently leading the hospital to a positive bottom line 10 years in a row as well as implementing a successful strategic investment and cost containment plan. In addition to her role as CFO, Ms. Rider also serves as the UHS Delaware Valley Hospital compliance officer and as a board chair for UHS Employee Federal Credit Union.
Stephanie Rosentreter. CFO of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission (Merriam, Kan.). Ms. Rosentreter oversees strategic financial planning and management for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, a 504-bed hospital that also includes AdventHealth Prairie Star in Lexana, Kan. and AdventHealth College Boulevard in Overland Park, Kan. She brings extensive experience in financial leadership across the AdventHealth system, most recently serving as interim CFO for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission and as regional controller for the Mid-America Region. Ms. Rosentreter has led major system initiatives, including the implementation of PeopleSoft, preparation for the Workday transition, and the creation of a regional accounting and reporting department that strengthened financial operations. She also partnered with external stakeholders to launch a new infusion clinic, expanding access to needed services and supporting organizational growth.
Cheryl A. Sadro. Senior Vice President and CFO for Johns Hopkins Medicine and Executive Vice President and CFO for Johns Hopkins Health System (Baltimore). Ms. Sadro serves as the senior vice president and CFO of Johns Hopkins Medicine and the executive vice president and CFO of the Johns Hopkins Health System, providing financial leadership for six hospitals, Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, and multiple joint ventures and affiliate organizations. She joined Johns Hopkins in January 2024, bringing more than 35 years of experience in public accounting and financial leadership within large, mission-driven health systems. Previously, she served as CFO for UC Davis (Calif.) Health, where she oversaw financial operations for the medical center, ambulatory network, two schools and numerous partnerships. She has also held earlier executive financial leadership roles at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, St. Louis-based Ascension Health and Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives before its merger. Ms. Sadro is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and is an active contributor to national CFO forums and healthcare policy discussions.
Susan Sauder. CFO of Providence Southern Oregon Region (Medford). Ms. Sauder started as CFO of the Southern Oregon Service Area at Providence St. Joseph Health in April 2023. Ms. Sauder has financial experience within the healthcare industry starting in April 2000, with over 20 years of experience across five different healthcare organizations. Ms. Sauder is responsible for managing all of Providence’s financial operations happening within the entire Southern Oregon Region.
Jennifer Schneider. CFO of UAB Hospital (Birmingham, Ala.). Ms. Schneider became CFO for UAB Hospital in November 2023. Prior, she served as regional CFO of Trinity Health of New England in Hartford, Conn. from October 2019-23. She was with the system for approximately 20 years in total, having served at a system level and in finance and compliance roles at Hartford, Conn.-based Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, which is part of Trinity Health of New England.
Shelly Schorer. CFO of the California Division for CommonSpirit Health (Chicago). Ms. Schorer serves as CFO of CommonSpirit’s California division. She brings over 25 years of executive experience to her role. She is charged with oversight of financial performance for the state, which includes the integrated delivery network of hospitals, ambulatory care sites, physician alignment, joint ventures and payer relations. She also represents the region’s reporting, projections and additional financial presentations. Before joining Dignity Health in 2017, she served as a regional CFO for St. Louis-based Mercy Health.
Kristen Sharp, DBA. North Texas Market CFO and Chief Staffing Officer of Behavioral Health Services for HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.). Dr. Sharp oversees financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, labor management and regulatory compliance for Medical City Green Oaks Hospital in Dallas and two mental health and wellness centers. She has led multimillion-dollar financial turnarounds, redesigned reporting structures, and developed workforce models that improved labor efficiency, reduced agency reliance and strengthened operational performance. Ms. Sharp also drives cross-functional initiatives that enhance budget discipline, improve revenue cycle outcomes and increase transparency across the North Texas behavioral health market. Her leadership extends into the community through roles with Play Like A Girl, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Nashville Chamber YP Board, the Health Equity Initiative and HCA’s diversity and inclusion council. She has been recognized with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation “30 Under 30” designation, the HCA “Healthcare Leadership Award,” and as a 2024 “Nashville Emerging Leader Awards” finalist by YP Nashville and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Stacy Shepherd. CFO of AdventHealth East Orlando (Fla.). Ms. Shepherd has served as CFO of AdventHealth East Orlando since June 2022, but she has been working for AdventHealth Central Florida for over eight years. As CFO, Ms. Shepherd incorporates skills of financial analysis, management and projections, and strategic budgeting, planning and decision-making. Prior to working at the East Orlando location, Ms. Shepherd worked as a finance director for Florida Hospital, which has now been acquired by AdventHealth.
Karen Testman, RN. CFO at MemorialCare (Fountain Valley, Calif.). From an early career as a nurse, Ms. Testman has gained national recognition for her pioneering efforts in value-based care and helping to drive unprecedented transformation as a CFO. She leads the finance division for MemorialCare and has been credited as among the very first to embrace value-based care, with successes including the creation of the region’s biggest 24/7 virtual options. She has also helped create a diversified care network of 330 care sites, including ambulatory surgery, imaging, dialysis, urgent care, breast health, rehabilitation, dental, primary and specialized care centers, and more, as well as teaching, children’s, women’s and community hospitals. Under her leadership, MemorialCare combines cost discipline with strong clinical outcomes to provide the region’s most value-based employment and health plan contracts, with annual savings to employers and health plans exceeding $200 million. For example, a customized multiyear direct-to-employer contract between The Boeing Company and MemorialCare significantly reduces health costs while improving workforce satisfaction and engagement. A popular speaker who is often quoted in industry articles, Ms. Testman was among the first RNs to become CFO of an integrated delivery system. She joined MemorialCare in 1998, later became senior vice president of financial operations and was promoted to CFO in 2013.
Debora Thomas. CFO of AdventHealth East Florida Division (Daytona Beach, Fla.). Ms. Thomas leads financial strategy for the area’s largest hospital system, which comprises seven hospitals, more than 1,500 beds, and 11,000 team members across Florida’s Flagler, northern Lake and Volusia counties. She is responsible for overseeing financial operations and long-term planning for a growing region that employs more than 11,000 people and includes 450 employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Under her leadership, the division delivered its strongest financial performance in 2024, driving year-over-year growth in revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. These results supported the system’s $500 million in reinvestment across the region, including a freestanding emergency room in St. Johns County, a new hospital and cancer center in Flagler County, a medical office building in Lake County and a major hospital expansion in Volusia County. Ms. Thomas has helped to reduce patient length of stay, improve efficiency and guide smart, strategic investments that meet community needs. She joined AdventHealth in 1996 and has held a range of leadership roles, including chief transformation officer, where she led the system’s $660 million EHR implementation across more than 1,200 sites of care.
Yvette Tremonti. System CFO of City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.). Ms. Tremonti serves as system CFO for City of Hope, overseeing enterprisewide financial operations including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, revenue cycle, entity financial operations and supply chain. She plays a central role in shaping integrated strategic and financial plans as City of Hope continues its transformation into a national cancer care system now serving more than 144,000 patients annually across four states. Before joining City of Hope in 2024, Ms. Tremonti spent 28 years at Tampa, Fla.-based H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer. At Moffitt, she supported exponential growth in clinical volume and research funding, and helped advance a multi-billion-dollar capital expansion strategy that strengthened the organization’s academic and clinical reach. At City of Hope, she guides investments that sustain growth, advance scientific discovery and expand access to lifesaving care, contributing to more than $500 million in annual community benefit including charity care, education, research and public health outreach. Widely recognized for her strategic, equity-driven leadership, Ms. Tremonti champions initiatives that address disparities in cancer care, mentors emerging leaders and has been honored as the Tampa Bay Business Journal‘s 2018 “CFO of the Year” and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2019 “Woman of the Year” for Tampa Bay.
Jessica Trimble. CFO and Executive Director of Operations for Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana (Calif.) Medical Center. Ms. Trimble is CFO and executive director of operations for Providence Cedars Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Prior, she was service area CFO of the medical center since August 2022. She brings a wealth of experience in the hospital and healthcare finance industry. She came to Cedars-Sinai from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
Salema Tyler. CFO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan (New York City). Ms. Tyler provides strategic financial leadership for NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, overseeing fiscal operations, revenue cycle optimization, budget development, and multilevel funding strategies that strengthen the hospital’s mission of equitable, community-centered care. She has distinguished herself as one of the very few Black female CFOs in major U.S. organizations. Ms. Tyler brings a career-long commitment to public service shaped by early experience as a teacher and extensive leadership roles across New York City government and NYC Health + Hospitals. Ms. Tyler secured $3 million for biomedical equipment replacements and $1.6 million for lab staffing to support a 338-bed facility that serves more than 350,000 clinic patients and 50,000 emergency department visitors annually. She implemented a financial counseling workflow that enrolled over 600 patients in MetroPlusHealth within two months, generating $360,000 in savings with projected annualized gains of up to $3 million. Ms. Tyler also developed a new screening tool to improve triage efficiency, reducing unnecessary referrals and decreasing referral-to-appointment turnaround time by 10% in the first month. She further eliminated temporary staffing costs for non-clinical and allied health roles, about $1 million annually, achieving net savings of $200,000 while strengthening operational stability.
Lisa Urbistondo. CFO of the Hospital Division at Emory Healthcare (Atlanta). With more than two decades of experience in executive healthcare leadership, Ms. Urbistondo has developed expertise in strategic and financial planning, revenue cycle management, hospital operations, and finance and accounting. She applies her technical and leadership skills to her role as CFO of the hospital division at Emory. She first joined the system in 2022 as vice president and CFO of three Emory hospitals. Prior, she served as CFO and assistant vice president for Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin, Ga. and Sylvan Grove Hospital in Jackson, Ga., both part of Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System.
Patricia “Patt” Vilt. Senior Vice President and CFO of Riverside Healthcare (Kankakee, Ill.). Ms. Vilt is senior vice president and CFO for Riverside Healthcare and also serves as the system’s chief compliance officer, overseeing financial operations, reimbursement, budgeting, internal audit and revenue cycle for both the hospital and physician network. She joined the system in 1995 and advanced through roles in healthcare finance and senior leadership before being named one of only four CFOs in the organization’s history, and the first woman to hold the title, in 2021. Ms. Vilt was instrumental in navigating the challenges of 2020, and she continues to guide the system through a complex financial landscape while maintaining a strong compliance culture. Nationally, she has had significant influence on safety-net financing as former chair of the board of 340B Health, helping hospitals stretch scarce resources to serve low-income Medicare, Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income patients through the federal 340B drug pricing program. She is active in professional and community leadership as a member and past president of Healthcare Financial Management Association’s First Illinois Chapter, a finance committee member for Uplifted Care and a former foundation board member for Kankakee Community College.
Jennifer Wakem. CFO of University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (Las Vegas). Ms. Wakem now has five years of experience as CFO of University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. She oversees the financial health of the hospital, which includes Nevada’s only level 1 trauma center, pediatric trauma center, burn care center and transplant center. She has previous experience as associate CFO of Tenet Healthcare.
Tammy Wallace. CFO of UCLA Health (Los Angeles). Ms. Wallace directs financial operations for UCLA Health, including the revenue cycle, accounting, supply chain, strategic planning, contracting and major mergers and acquisitions initiatives. She created the “Sustaining Excellence Transformation” model, which has produced annual margin improvements of $39 million to $94 million through labor optimization, pharmacy growth, operational efficiencies and revenue enhancements. Ms. Wallace led financial planning and due diligence for two hospital acquisitions and supported readiness efforts for an at-risk Medicare Advantage plan. Her work has helped maintain UCLA Health’s exceptionally strong financial position and supported its continued expansion across the region. She also serves on multiple community boards, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Before joining UCLA Health, Ms. Wallace held senior financial leadership roles at San Francisco-based UCSF Health.
Cheryl Wathen. Senior Vice President and CFO at Deaconess Health System (Evansville, Ind.). Ms. Wathen has been with Deaconess for 30 years, growing the system from a single hospital to a 13 hospital operation across three states. She has helped to build strategy and ensure that the system has capital to expand. She has set up a patient payment program that allows patients to pay their bills and build credit without occurring interest expenses.
Amy Wheeler. Vice President of Orlando (Fla.) Health and CFO for Baptist Health’s Alabama Region. Ms. Wheeler serves as vice president of Orlando Health and CFO for the Baptist Health Alabama Region, overseeing financial operations and strategic growth for hospitals and services across the Birmingham market. She played a central role in Orlando Health’s first acquisition in Central Alabama, helping integrate the five-hospital Brookwood Baptist Health system, which is now Baptist Health, into the organization and supporting clinical excellence across more than 1,700 inpatient beds. Under her leadership, more than 5,000 team members were successfully converted to Orlando Health systems, including payroll and benefits, ensuring continuity and stability during a complex transition. Having previously served as a facility CFO, Ms. Wheeler now leads at the regional level, guiding finance teams through organizational change while mentoring leaders and supporting career development. She is known for her hands-on leadership, spending time in each hospital, rounding with leaders and staff, and becoming a trusted, visible presence for new Alabama team members. Ms. Wheeler brings more than two decades of experience as a CFO at multiple hospitals, and deep community engagement through board and leadership roles in Florida and Georgia.
Bonnie White. CFO of UNM Hospital (Albuquerque). Ms. White oversees the finance department at UNM Hospital, part of the UNM Health System, which includes the only academic medical center in New Mexico. The system cares for over a million patients per year.
Christine Williams Bond. CFO at University Medical Center New Orleans and New Orleans East Hospital. Ms. Bond serves as the senior financial leader for New Orleans-based LCMC Health’s University Medical Center New Orleans and New Orleans East Hospital, where she is known for steady, results-oriented leadership that pairs fiscal discipline with mission growth. She is responsible for aligning financial strategy with clinical and community needs. Ms. Bond oversees budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, revenue optimization, labor productivity and cost management. In her role, she leads strategic planning for major projects, secures funding for priority initiatives and consistently delivers clean annual audits. A New Orleans native, she joined LCMC Health in 2014 after finance roles across multiple Atlanta-area health systems.
Gena Wingfield. Executive Vice President and CFO of Arkansas Children’s (Little Rock). Ms. Wingfield is the executive vice president and CFO for Arkansas Children’s, where she is responsible for all financial matters and functions of the health system. She actively participates in ideating and executing the system’s overall strategic plan and determines the financial impact of external factors on the organization, such as changes in Medicaid funding. She brings over 35 years of experience at the health system to her role, and has played a large part in Arkansas Children’s becoming financially healthy.
