Lower inpatient volumes and declining reimbursements in conjunction with rising charity care have forced the hospital to announce the layoffs, which follow other cost-cutting measures such as eliminating vacant positions.
The layoffs affected those working in nonclinical departments, including a transcription and dietary supervisor and executive assistant.
