Mr. Roe was accused of charging the two hospitals for software and services that were never rendered by his firm, Cycle Software Solutions.
According to a previous report, Mr. Roe was also charged with witness tampering and obstruction of justice after emails from Mr. Roe to John Murphy, MD, CEO of Danbury Hospital, were released to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The emails show that Mr. Roe raised the appraised value of his home, and it appears Mr. Roe’s contract with his former employer included some payments by the hospital for housing costs, according to the report.
In September, Mr. Roe originally pleaded not guilty to all charges of wire fraud, witness tampering, obstruction of justice and other crimes. However, he changed his plea to guilty to one count of wire fraud, according to the report.
Sentencing for Mr. Roe has been scheduled for May 22.
