San Diego-based Rady Children's Hospital has opened a new cardiovascular intensive care unit at its Kearny Mesa neighborhood facilities, according to a report from local ABC 10 News.
The ICU will feature state-of-the-art patient monitoring capabilities, laboratory and radiology services and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
Rady Children's expects to begin pediatric heart transplants at the facility in the near future, according to the report.
