NYC Hospitals Identify Site for $240M Proton Center

A city-owned block between East 126th and East 127th Street in Harlem, N.Y., is projected to be the site of a proposed $240 million proton beam therapy center, according to a Crain's New York Business report.

The New York Proton Center is a collaboration between Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, NYU Langone Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital, all in New York City, according to the report.

The new center would need to occupy the entire block, given the size and weight of the proton beam equipment, according to the report.
