4-System Collaboration Creates Blood Cancer Treatment Center in Texas

A collaboration between Austin, Texas-based St. David’s Healthcare, San Antonio-based Texas Transplant Institute, Nashville, Tenn.-based Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network and Dallas-based Texas Oncology will create a blood cancer treatment center in Austin, according to a report from local KVUE news.

St. David’s will invest $11 million into the venture. When finished, the new center will offer bone marrow transplants, stem cell transplants, chemotherapy and radiation.

The center will be the first of its kind in Austin and will open during spring 2014, according to the report.
