In the third quarter of 2010, 73 percent of hospital appeals of payment denials were successful against CGI Federal, the Region B contractor, nearly double the national rate of 38 percent, according to the AHA’s RACTrac survey.

“This could be an indication that RACs are too aggressive in this region,” the Ohio Hospital Association stated.
