Phoenix Children's Hospital and Phoenix-based Dignity Health announced that they will open a pediatric inpatient unit inside Dignity Health's Mercy Gilbert (Ariz.) Medical Center.
The 22-bed unit will offer pediatric care and will be staffed by Phoenix Children's hospitalists for children requiring observation or inpatient care.
Renovations to accommodate the new unit will begin this month.
