Sean McCallister has been appointed interim CEO of RiverPeak Health, a nonprofit, community-owned hospital and clinic under construction in Riverton, Wyo., according to a March 3 news release.

Mr. McCallister will join the organization June 1 and guide the hospital through its opening phase. He brings more than 20 years of rural healthcare leadership experience, including executive roles in Wyoming, Alaska and Idaho, according to the release.

Most recently, he served as interim CEO of Powell (Wyo.) Valley Healthcare, which operates a 25-bed critical access hospital, physician clinics and an assisted living facility.

RiverPeak Health — formerly known as Riverton Medical District — is building a two-story, 71,000-square-foot hospital slated for completion in late 2026. The facility will include 13 inpatient beds, labor and delivery services, an emergency department with a trauma bay, surgical suites and outpatient clinic services, according to RiverPeak Health’s website. The organization is locally owned and governed and affiliated with Billings (Mont.) Clinic.
