Waleed Javaid, MD, has been named the first chief quality officer for Morgantown, W.Va.- based WVU Hospitals, part of WVU Medicine in Morgantown.
WVU Hospitals comprises WVU Medicine’s J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and WVU Medicine Children’s, which are both in Morgantown, Fairmont (W.Va.) Medical Center and affiliated outpatient clinics, according to a Sept. 19 news release.
Prior to his new role, Dr. Javaid served as director of infection prevention for New York City-based Mount Sinai Downtown and professor of medicine for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
