William Showalter named Froedtert Health CIO

Froedtert & the Medical College, based in Milwaukee, has named William Showalter senior vice president and CIO, according to a Wauwatosa Now report.

Mr. Showalter is taking over for Robert DeGrand, who retired, according to the report. Before coming to Froedtert, Mr. Showalter was the senior vice president of information technology at Wellmont Health System in Kingsport, Tenn. He also has experience serving as CIO of Mercy Health in St. Louis, and of Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis.

As CIO, Mr. Showalter will be responsible for strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of IT across Froedtert Health.

Froedtert & the Medical College includes three hospitals and more than 30 primary care and specialty locations.
