Officials have said mistakes in financial calculations used to craft the $200 million deal with LCMC may have included West Jefferson overstating its earnings by $9 million. In April, Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni called the mistakes “unacceptable,” and assigned a team to investigate, according to the report.

Ms. Browning’s resignation comes just as the hospital’s undergo closer examination. On Wednesday, the Jefferson Parish Council agreed to pay Ernst & Young as much as $500,000 to audit the lease deal.

The hospital didn’t offer specifics about Ms. Browning’s departure and said a search to fill the CFO position is underway.
