Washington hospital names inaugural chief physician executive

Wenatchee, Wash.-based Confluence Health has named James Murray, MD, chief physician executive.

Dr. Murray is the first to serve in the position, according to an April 29 news release. The role will focus on clinical operations and service line performance across the system.

Dr. Murray has served as chief medical officer since July 2023, and the organization is conducting a search for his replacement. He joined Confluence Health in 2005 as a hospitalist and has held multiple leadership roles, including medical director for inpatient medicine and core medical director for specialty and ancillary medicine.
