Walker Baptist Medical Center president to oversee Shelby Baptist Medical Center

Bob Phillips, president of Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Ala., will now oversee Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala., as president. Mr. Phillips’ new role will begin April 6.

Keith Parrott, president and CEO of Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health System, which operates both Walker and Shelby Baptist Medical Center, announced Mr. Phillips’ appointment following David Wilson’s resignation as president from Shelby Baptist, effective March 27.

Before joining Walker Baptist Medical Center as administrator in 2009, Mr. Phillips served for six years as executive director of operations for Baptist Health Centers and as senior director of patient financial services and operations director of the company.

Baptist Health System has begun searching for a new president for Walker Baptist Medical Center.
