Mr. Gintzig served as a commanding officer and reservist in the U.S. Navy and retired on Oct. 1, 2013, from his active duty position as rear admiral, senior healthcare executive and acting deputy surgeon general.
Mr. Gintzig has also served as CEO of a number of hospitals, including St. Thomas Health Service in Nashville, Tenn.
