Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital has named David Sanville interim CEO, effective Oct. 1.
Mr. Sanville has worked with the hospital since October 2025 through his consulting firm, DUNAMIS Consulting Services, and served as its executive financial consultant and, for part of that time, interim CFO, according to an Oct. 1 news release. He will lead the hospital while the board searches for a permanent CEO.
Mr. Sanville previously spent more than nine years as CFO and ancillary service senior leader at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, Vt., part of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health, the release said. Before that, he spent more than 14 years at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, Vt., including nearly 13 years as CFO and vice president of finance.
Tony Blofson, MD, and Elizabeth McLarney, MD, who have served as acting co-CEOs since October 2025, will step down from those roles this month and become senior advisers to the interim CEO, according to the release. Fred Schaffner, who was named CFO in May, will continue to lead the hospital’s financial operations.
Brattleboro Memorial is licensed for up to 61 beds and serves about 55,000 people in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, according to its website.
