Venice Regional Bayfront Health CEO steps down: 3 things to know

Peter Wozniak, CEO of Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health, will resign at the end of July.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Wozniak and his planned resignation.

1. Mr. Wozniak has held the position since January 2010.

2. Under Mr. Wozniak's leadership, the hospital's quality of care has steadily advanced, according to a news release. Venice Regional is one of only 147 hospitals in the nation to be named a "Top Performer on Key Quality Measures" by The Joint Commission for the last four consecutive years and the only Florida west coast hospital recognized as one of the "Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals" by Truven Health Analytics. Additionally, the hospital is one of only 11 in the country to earn Dual Center of Excellence designations for metabolic and bariatric surgery given by the Surgical Review Corporation and the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.

3. Members of the hospital's board, medical staff and administration will be involved in the selection of the right candidate to lead Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
