Josh Hammond was appointed president of VCU Health Tappahannock (Va.) Hospital, effective Dec. 7.
Mr. Hammond had served as interim leader since June, according to a Nov. 25 health system news release. In his new role, he will oversee day-to-day operations and clinical services while advancing strategic initiatives for the hospital, which serves the Tappahannock and Northern Neck region of Virginia.
He brings 14 years of healthcare leadership experience to the position, including previous roles with Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health and Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health.
Mr. Hammond most recently served as associate vice president for ambulatory operations at VCU Health and has also held leadership roles in ambulatory operations and access improvement.
He succeeds Liz Martin, who retired in June.
