VCU Health names CHRO

Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health has appointed John Petrov chief human resources officer, effective Aug. 20. 

Mr. Petrov will also serve as the chief human resources spokesperson for VCU Health and have full oversight for human resources operations.

He joins VCU Health from the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pa., where he was the executive vice president and chief caregiver officer. In this role, he was human resources leader for the five-hospital system, which serves patients in northern Pennsylvania and southern New York.

Mr. Petrov has a master's in human resource management from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management. 

"John is a transformative and strategic executive and comes to VCU Health with over 20 years of human resources experience, including serving in both healthcare and an academic medical center environment," VCU Health Interim CEO Marlon Levy, MD, said in a July 5 news release. "His expertise will ensure our priorities for the health system and organizational culture foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible workplace for all."
