Deonna Taylor, PhD, ACNP, RN, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer of adult ambulatory nursing at Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Taylor had held the position on an interim basis since February. She succeeds Michele Hasselblad, DNP, RN, who was appointed CNO of Vanderbilt University Hospital earlier this year. In her new role, Dr. Taylor will continue leading nursing practice across more than 400 ambulatory clinical sites throughout Middle Tennessee, spanning diagnostic, surgical, infusion, primary care, specialty care and home-based services.
Dr. Taylor’s priorities include expanding standardized technology processes across ambulatory locations and strengthening specialty services through systemwide, evidence-based clinical practice.
She joined Vanderbilt Health in 2003 as a nurse in the kidney and pancreas transplant unit and was appointed associate vice president and associate CNO in 2024 before moving into the interim ambulatory nursing role in 2026.
