Vanderbilt hospital taps dual COO-CNO

Lori Martin, BSN, was named COO and chief nursing officer of Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital in Shelbyville, Tenn., after serving in the inaugural interim role for the past four months.

In her dual role, Ms. Martin will oversee operations, support growth initiatives and lead care teams, according to a July 8 news release from Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Ms. Martin has more than 20 years of healthcare experience and joined Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tenn., 2021. Most recently, she served as senior director of radiology, surgery and procedural services, where she led 11 departments with more than 200 FTEs.

During her tenure at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Ms. Martin advanced service lines, improved quality and safety outcomes and strengthened team performance.
