Here are three things to know about Mr. Minick.

1. He has been at the hospital for more than three decades. He began as CFO and moved into the CEO role a few years later.

2. During Mr. Minick’s tenure, the independent, community hospital has received multiple awards, including customer satisfaction awards.

3. Mr. Minick said in the report he is uncertain what his future will hold. “I think I’m going to determine if there is life after Van Wert County Hospital. I’m not sure that everybody understands that being the CEO of a hospital is a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week. 365-day-a-year situation. You’re always tethered to your phone, you’re always tethered to your email, you get calls on vacation, all those types of things. I think intellectually you make a decision, but you still have to work through it emotionally. I promised my wife, I’m going to take a shot at retirement and see what happens,” he told the publication.
