UW Medicine taps Lisa Brandenburg as chief health system officer

Seattle-based UW Medicine named Lisa Brandenburg  chief health system officer as well as vice president for medical affairs at the University of Washington. She will step into the roles in December.

Ms. Brandenburg currently leads the academic medical center and pediatric healthcare practice at Simpler Consulting, an IBM company. She previously served as president of Seattle Children’s Hospital.

From 1990 to 2007, she worked at Seattle-based UW Medical Center, where she served in numerous roles, including COO and interim executive director. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

In her new role, Ms.Brandenburg  will oversee operations of UW Medicine’s clinical entities. She holds a MBA and a master’s degree in public health from UC Berkeley.
