UVA Medical Center CEO R. Edward Howell to Retire

R. Edward Howell has announced he will retire in July 2014 as vice president and CEO of University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.

Mr. Howell became vice president and CEO of the hospital in 2002. He plans to continue teaching in the Department of Public Health Sciences at UVA School of Medicine following his retirement. The University of Virginia plans to launch a national search for his replacement.
