UT Medical Center names new CIO

Knoxville-based University of Tennessee Medical Center has a new IT chief.

Lynnette Clinton has been named senior vice president and CIO of the academic medical center. Ms. Clinton previously served as vice president of applications and interim CIO at Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System and in IT leadership at Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network.

"Lynnette will provide our organization with expertise and leadership across information technology functions — enhancing and further enabling our ability to maintain secure, efficient technology infrastructure and systems for our team members and for our patients," UT Medical Center CFO Benjamin Cunningham said in a Feb. 6 news release. "Lynnette comes to us with the right blend of soft skills and technical skills necessary to lead our team in this space."

In more than two decades in healthcare, Ms. Clinton has helped lead Oracle Health (formerly known as Cerner) EHR projects, enterprise resource planning replacement, and mobile applications. She fills the void left by Michael Saad, who departed to become CIO at Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare in October.
