UT Health East Texas taps Vicki Briggs as CEO for flagship facility

Tyler-based UT Health East Texas appointed Vicki Briggs CEO of UT Health Tyler, its 502-bed flagship hospital.

In a deal that closed March 1, Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services and Austin-based the University of Texas System acquired East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System. ETMC Regional Healthcare System rebranded as the 10-hospital UT Health East Texas system.

Most recently, Ms. Briggs served as president and CEO of St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn. She previously led Birmingham, Ala.-based St. Vincent’s Health System.

Ms. Briggs is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds an MBA from Samford University in Birmingham.
