UPMC taps president for 2 hospitals

Michael Corso was named president of UPMC Altoona (Pa.) and UPMC Bedford in Everett, Pa., both part of Pittsburgh-based UPMC.

Mr. Corso has served in the position on an interim basis since March, following Jan Fisher’s retirement, according to a July 22 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Corso joined UPMC Altoona three decades ago as an administrative intern. Since then, he has held various leadership roles with progressive responsibilities at UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford, the release said.

UPMC has more than 40 hospitals and 800 physician offices and outpatient centers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, and internationally.
