Pittsburgh-based UPMC has named Chris Carmody its new CIO, effective Sept. 1, the health system confirmed to Becker’s.
Mr. Carmody previously served as UPMC’s chief technology officer. He will succeed Ed McCallister, senior vice president and CIO, who will transition to a special advisor role.
As CIO, Mr. Carmody will be responsible for leading UPMC’s Information Technology Division.
Mr. Carmody has been with UPMC since 1998, according to his LinkedIn profile.
