UPMC taps Mark O’Hern as president of 2 hospitals: 4 things to know

UPMC appointed Mark O’Hern president of UPMC McKeesport (Pa.) and UPMC East in Monroeville, Pa.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. O’Hern most recently served as vice president of operations at the hospitals.

2. He was previously executive director of Wexford, Pa.-based Children’s Community Pediatrics and director of cardiovascular services for UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside in Pittsburgh as well as co-director of the UPMC Administrative Fellowship Program.

3. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration management from Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cornell University.

4. Mr. O’Hern succeeds Mark Sevco, who is leaving to serve as COO of UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg, Pa.
