UPMC selects new president for Magee-Womens Hospital: 4 notes

UPMC named Richard Beigi, MD, president of UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, effective Jan. 1, 2019, becoming the first physician to hold the position.

Here are four notes:

1. Dr. Beigi is currently the hospital’s vice president of medical affairs and CMO.

2. He has worked at UPMC for 17 years.

3. He is also an associate professor and vice chair for clinical affairs in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

4. He succeeds Leslie Davis, who will continue to serve as senior vice president of UPMC as well as executive vice president and COO of the Health Services Division of UPMC
