University of Michigan approves executive vice president of medical affairs

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based University of Michigan Health System has approved the appointment of Marschall Runge, MD, PhD, as executive vice president for medical affairs.

Dr. Runge’s appointment will come into effect March 1, 2015.

Currently, Dr. Runge serves as executive dean of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.

He will succeed Ora Pescovitz, MD, as permanent executive vice president for medical affairs.
