Children’s Hospital Colorado CEO Jim Shmerling steps down

Jim Shmerling, PhD, MS, MBA, CEO of Children’s Hospital Colorado Health System and Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora, is stepping down from his role as hospital CEO, but will remain at the helm of the health system, according to Denver Business Journal.

Mr. Shmerling led the hospital for eight years. During his tenure, he guided Children’s Hospital through an expansion to a total of 16 locations.

According to the report, Mr. Shmerling will remain with Children’s Hospital but will transition from overseeing daily operations to focusing on his role as CEO of the Children’s Hospital Colorado Health System. In this role, he will concentrate on regional and national policy and funding various initiatives, according to the report.
